POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Services Manager will have direct management responsibility of the network/systems operations group responsible for issue resolution, network/server maintenance, systems monitoring, infrastructure availability and ensuring 24/7 staff coverage. This individual will also be responsible for strategic objectives such as developing and implementing policies and procedures, tracking and driving departmental goals, monitoring and reporting of departmental progression and establishing a quality focused service culture. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background across multiple infrastructure disciplines, exceptional communication and organizational skills, and experience in building and managing teams with a Financial Services organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage day to day efforts to monitor and manage Janney’s Information Technology infrastructure including overnight batch processing.
• Evaluate, recommend, and implement best in class monitoring and management tools
• Design efficient and reliable processes for installing new/redeployed servers, provisioning services, storage, and peripherals
• Identify and implement reliable system standards and processes around risk and early detection and effective monitoring practices
• Works closely with development, network, and support teams in implementation infrastructure components supporting emerging technologies and applications.
• Responds to issue escalation and service interruption as a confident technical leader. Assume technical leadership role in problem resolution and root cause analysis. Provide actionable after-incident analysis to ensure root cause issues are logged and remediated.
• Prepares activity and progress reports for projects ensuring issues are properly escalated and resolved to maintain delivery schedule, project cost, and desired results.
• Develops activity plans, time and resource estimates; and cost benefit analyses for planned activities. Ensures that changes and enhancements are carried out properly and on a timely basis.
• Manages multiple priorities effectively. Maintains clear and efficient communications with management and customers. Provides guidance and mentoring to peers. Prepares presentations on technical subject matter for senior management.
• Maintains effective external relationships with vendors, consultants, and service providers; leverages these relationships to ensure that the best fit solutions and resources are available to the firm.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
• Demonstrated success in establishing technology operations processes, teams, tools and performance metric tracking mechanisms for mission critical IT systems.
• Demonstrated capability to team with all functional areas (infrastructure, development, network, systems) of an IT solutions department
• Clear and efficient communications both with technical peers and management. Demonstrated mentoring experience to ensure that designs are executed upon and supported appropriately.
• 7 – 10 years of experience in network/systems operations in a 24/7 mission critical IT infrastructure.
• 5 years experience with enterprise event management tools
• 7 years experience managing technical professionals in the systems/DB/network administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience preferred
• Significant experience with Intel based systems with an emphasis on Windows, SQL, and Messaging
• Experience working with SAN/NAS, Backup/Recovery, and DR/BC operations
• Experience with virtualization technologies in a production environment
• Functional knowledge of core networking concepts
• Regimented change and release management methodology. Security and Patch updates to follow the firm’s change management procedures and a patch release schedule
• Leads system performance diagnosis and scalability assessment activities.
• Experience with current best practices in IT standards, principles, and security practices
• Knowledge around MS SQL 2005, Double-Take and Virtualization technologies a plus
• Excellent technical documentation skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills
• ITIL v3 Certification in Service Delivery preferred
