POSITION SUMMARY
Provide research support to Senior Research Analyst in the Equity Research Department. Analyze industry trends and company financials under the direction of the Senior Analyst. Create and maintain financial models and industry databases ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for the preparation of research reports. Review industry and company sources in order to gather and interpret data on the companies followed by the Senior Analyst. Write and publish research reports and communicate recommendations to sales, trading and clients. In addition, assist in the development of marketing materials for clients, make presentations, and attend industry conferences where appropriate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develops and maintains company financial models (e.g., 10K/Q updates; earnings; etc.)
• Timely preparation of succinct written research
• Obtains ad hoc information for support of investment thesis work
• Performs ad hoc industry analysis and company specific financial analysis
• Prepares and updates marketing materials
• Prepares and updates valuation analysis
• Prepares modeling/charting analysis work to quantify benefits or challenges
• Supports client communication and fulfills data requests as directed
• Develops industry contacts and resources
• Identifies underutilized industry resources or research opportunities
• Completes channel checks, industry surveys and competitive assessments
• Helps maintain and improve client database and marketing techniques
• Helps generate new research ideas or coverage opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
• Two to five years of relevant work experience in media and entertainment
• Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance or Mathematics; CFA and/or MBA preferred
• Strong communication skills—written and oral
• Proactive analysis and detail orientation—know what is important and how to prove it
• Excellent knowledge of accounting, finance, and valuation principles
• Direct experience with proprietary modeling, data, and valuations systems
• Strong IT skills—Office 2007 (especially Excel), Bloomberg, and other data retrieval services
• Highly organized with an ability to work under pressure and multi-task
• Relationships with media, advertising, video game, or entertainment professionals
• Familiarity with the issues in the media and entertainment landscape
• Relevant licenses--Series 7, 63, 86, and 87 licenses
