Rewards Program Changes

Effective December 2014, only Janney Advantage accounts with a total household* asset balance above $50,000 will be eligible to receive rewards points. Household asset balances will be evaluated each December, and rewards points eligibility will be determined for the following year. Other features and benefits, such as reimbursement for transaction fees assessed by domestic ATM owners, will continue to be offered to all Janney Advantage cash management accounts regardless of total household balance.

*Janney Household Definition: Janney households are used to determine the level of benefits and fee waivers that will be applied to Janney accounts. A household is defined as a group of accounts with the same mailing address or Social Security/Taxpayer Identification Number that are serviced by the same Financial Advisor or FA team. A household can be “linked” to another household to receive certain benefits and fee waivers. The household with the largest asset balance will set the level of benefits and fee waivers for all accounts in the linked household group. Households can only be linked together if they are part of a family relationship, defined as accounts owned by a grandparent, parent, child, or grandchild of an account owner in the household with the largest asset balance. Benefits and fee waivers are not determined by the combined assets of accounts in all linked households. Some accounts, including qualified retirement plans and business accounts, may not be eligible to be included in a household. Households are set automatically by Janney. Linking households together is at the discretion of your Janney Financial Advisor. Fees will not be prorated or rebated.

Gift Cards

Clients of the Janney Rewards Program will have the opportunity to redeem points for gift cards to their favorite merchants. To name just a few: Best Buy®, Bonefish Grill, Lowe's®, Pier 1 Imports®, Starbucks and Target.

Charity Gift Card (CGC)

Enrollment

Cardholders are automatically enrolled in Janney RewardsSM as soon as they open a Janney Advantage Account and activate their VISA® Platinum Debit Card. Participation is restricted to individuals and U.S. account holders only. Corporations, trusts, partnerships and similar accounts, and individuals maintaining an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) or other retirement accounts are not eligible to participate. Janney Reserves the right to terminate your Janney Advantage at any time.

Points Earned

The Cardholder accumulates points on the basis of one point per dollar of net eligible purchases posted to the Cardholder's debit card account, exclusive of cash advances and bill payment transactions through the personal computer. Clients will earn one point for every $100 in money market fund balances posted quarterly. Points do not accumulate for fees of any kind, such as finance charges and unauthorized charges. Points may not be combined with other discounts, special rates, promotions or other award programs. Points may take up to 60 days to be posted following a qualifying purchase. Accounts will be updated monthly. Cardholders with questions about their points may call Janney RewardsSM customer service toll-free at 1-888-557-1738 between 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. ET, seven days a week.

Redemption of Points

Cardholders are eligible to redeem points. Points redeemed and expired points will be based on a first-in, first-out process. Points are not transferable, are not redeemable for cash and cannot be used as payment for obligations owed to Janney Montgomery Scott or any of its affiliates. Points are considered fully redeemed once your request is submitted online or confirmed over the phone.  To redeem points, please call Janney RewardsSM customer service toll-free at 1-888-557-1738 or log on by  clicking here.

General Information
The cardholder will earn points when they are posted to Janney RewardsSM redemption system. Points cannot be earned until an account has been assigned. No retroactive credit will be given. Cardholder points may not be combined from different accounts to earn a reward. Points cannot be used in conjunction with other frequency or award programs. The points that the cardholder earns will expire in three (3) years at the end of the quarter in which they are earned.

Janney Montgomery Scott LLC reserves the right to alter, change or terminate Janney RewardsSM at any time. This means that Janney Montgomery Scott may initiate changes impacting, for example, earning award points, mileage levels, rules for the use of travel awards, continued availability of travel awards, blackout dates, limited seating for travel awards and features of special offers. Janney Montgomery Scott reserves the right to cancel any reservations or void any documents in connection with such awards and travel arrangements. Janney Montgomery Scott reserves the right to disqualify Cardholders that have violated the redemption rules of Janney RewardsSM.

Neither Janney Montgomery Scott, nor any of its affiliates, nor Connexions Loyalty Solutions shall be liable for bodily harm and/or property damage that may result from the Cardholder's participation in Janney RewardsSM nor for the performance by the airlines of the ticketed transportation. Janney Montgomery Scott, nor any of its affiliates, does not guarantee the availability of any flight on any airline or seats on any such flight. Janney Montgomery Scott, nor any of its affiliates, does not endorse, guarantee, or warrant the goods and services by any airline. Tickets are subject to the applicable airline rules and restrictions. Lost or stolen or otherwise destroyed reward tickets, certificates or documents are not reusable or replaceable. Janney Montgomery Scott, nor any of its affiliates, makes no representations as to current or future tax consequences regarding participation in Janney RewardsSM. Cardholders should consult their own tax advisor for more information. 

Termination

Once a Cardholder's VISA® Platinum Debit Card or Janney RewardsSM Account is terminated, points will no longer be valid and statements will no longer be sent to Cardholders. The definition of termination is located in the Services Program Information Statement and Agreement that is sent to the Cardholder along with the Cardholder's VISA® Platinum Debit Card.

Janney Rewards® General Program Rules

These guidelines ("Guidelines") for the Janney Rewards® Program ("Program") describe eligibility requirements, earning and using Program rewards points ("Janney Rewards Points"), and other conditions and limitations. Please read this document carefully and keep it in a safe place. Any use of the Janney Rewards credit card account ("Account") issued by FIA Card Services, N.A. ("FIA Card Services") will constitute acknowledgment of, and agreement with, each of the terms of the applicable Credit Card Agreement and the terms described below.

  1. Clients will earn one point per net dollar purchase made on their Janney Advantage® Platinum card; exclusive of cash advances, traveler's check purchases, balance transfers and access checks. Points do not accumulate for fees of any kind, such as finance charges, late payment fees, annual fees, over limit fees, and related service charges, unauthorized charges, and ATM transactions. Changes made to the above list are at the sole discretion of Janney Montgomery Scott LLC.
  2. Points are considered earned when they are posted to the redemption system.
  3. Points will expire three (3) years to the end of the quarter in which they are earned. Points redeemed and expired points will be based on a first-in, first-out process.
  4. Accounts will be updated monthly. Points may take up to 45 days to be posted following a qualifying purchase.
  5. The online redemption center is available 24-hours a day. For redemptions, inquiries, and updates clients may call 1-888-557-1738. Hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (ET), seven days a week.
  6. Points cannot be earned until an account has been assigned. No retroactive credit will be given. Points may not be combined from different accounts to earn a reward. Points cannot be used in conjunction with other frequency or reward programs.
  7. Janney Montgomery Scott LLC reserves the right in its sole discretion to alter, change, or terminate the program or any account at any time without notice.
  8. Questions as to what constitutes a qualifying transaction, as well as any exceptions, are at the sole discretion of Janney Montgomery Scott LLC. Janney Montgomery Scott LLC reserves the right to verify and adjust points at any time prior to or following posting and redemption.
  9. Janney Montgomery Scott LLC reserves the right to disqualify clients who have violated these rules.
  10. Points are not transferable, are not redeemable for cash, and cannot be used as payment for obligations owed to Janney Montgomery Scott LLC or its affiliates.
  11. Determination and payment of tax liability is the sole responsibility of the client.
  12. The account must be open and in good standing in order to redeem.

Rewards Guidelines

General

All redemptions are final.

The Rewards Center and its partners are not responsible for rewards or correspondence lost or delayed due to U.S. Mail delivery or other delivery methods including overnight delivery services.

Air

  1. As a Janney Advantage® Member, you can redeem your points for Airline travel.

a. Airline tickets redeemed are non-refundable, non-changeable tickets. This includes taxes, destination charges and any other applicable fees.

Additionally, all rewards will be subject to applicable airline penalties and/or restrictions

b. Airline ticket reservations must be booked through Janney RewardsSM for your reward points to be applicable.

c. You may use your points toward the purchase of an airline ticket on any airline carrier that is offered by the Program. If the cost of the airline ticket is more than the value of the amount of points you want to redeem, you will have the option to pay the difference with your Janney debit card or credit card, or any other credit card of choice or to select another flight, if available, within the applicable point value. An airline ticket shall consist of a scheduled ticket for travel on any domestic or international airline whose schedules, fares and availability are displayed or published in an airline industry computer reservations system. All airline tickets are non-refundable, non-transferable and non-changeable. Airline tickets are not restricted by blackout dates, minimum night stays, or days in advance requirements. Choices of airlines and travel dates are subject to availability. Airline travel award items exclude the use of charters, wholesalers, or consolidators. Airline tickets are subject to the applicable airline's rules and restrictions. Janney and Connexions Loyalty do not guarantee the availability of any flight on any airline or seats on any flight. Janney and Connexions Loyalty do not endorse, guarantee or warrant the services or goods offered by any airline. Points may not be combined with any other discounts, special rates, promotions or other reward programs, including airline frequent flyer programs or airline credit card programs. Any change to your flight itinerary is subject to the applicable airline's terms and conditions, including any applicable change fees.

NOTE: A $28.80 charge will be applied when booking companion tickets.

d. Tickets for airline reward seats are limited to class of service/fare basis; capacity controlled and are subject to availability.

NOTE: Specific seat assignments cannot be guaranteed. The agency will make their best effort to request your preference. However, we recommend following-up with the airline directly to ensure your seat request. When schedule changes occur, you must re-request a new seat assignment

e. Tickets will be issued for a scheduled, U.S.-based airline based on the lowest fare available at the time of booking as displayed or published in a U.S. airline industry computer reservation systems such as Apollo.

f. Janney Montgomery Scott LLC and Connexions Loyalty do not maintain any control over the personnel, equipment or operations of any Travel Rewards Supplier. The passage contract in use by the airlines, and other carriers will constitute the sole contract between you/your travel companions and the carriers. The responsibility of any Travel Rewards Supplier to you/your travel companion is limited to the Travel Rewards Supplier's contractual and statutory liability as a common carrier.

g. Janney Montgomery Scott LLC and Connexions Loyalty do not have any responsibility for, and will not be liable for, any financial loss, personal injury, property loss or damage, other loss, accident, delay, inconvenience, or irregularity which you and/or your guest may suffer by reason of any act, default, non performance or wrongful, careless, negligent, or unauthorized act or omission of any Reward Supplier, its employees, or any third party.

h. Please note the following travel recommendations:

i. Contact the carrier 24 hours prior to your departure to confirm your itinerary

ii. Check in at least 2 hours prior to your departure for domestic flights; 3 hours prior to departure for international flights

iii. Photo ID is required at check-in for all flights. Passport required for all international travel (other documentation may be applicable). Most countries require a minimum of 6 month validity on your passport to travel.

     2. Administrative services are provided by Connexions Loyalty and travel
    agency services are provided by Loyalty Travel Agency, LLC.

    3. Janney Montgomery Scott LLC and Connexions Loyalty shall not be liable
    for any bodily harm and/or property damage which may result from your
    participation in the Janney Rewards Program, nor for the performance by the
    airlines of the ticketed transportation. Janney Montgomery Scott LLC does not
    guarantee the availability of any flight on any airline or seats on any such flight.
    Janney Montgomery Scott LLC does not endorse, guarantee or warrant the
    goods and services offered by any airline. Tickets are subject to the applicable
    airline rules and restrictions.

    4."Any airline" is defined as domestic or international airlines whose
    schedules, fares and availability are displayed or published in an airline
    industry Global Distribution System such as Apollo.

    5.Lost, stolen, or otherwise destroyed tickets or documents are not reusable
    or replaceable. Points are considered fully redeemed when an airline ticket is
    issued and mailed or emailed to the client.

    6.A minimum of 25,000 points is required to redeem for airline tickets.


SELLER OF TRAVEL INFORMATION

Travel services are provided by Loyalty Travel Agency LLC, who acts only as an agent. States seller of travel registration numbers for Loyalty Travel Agency LLC are: California 2097389-50 (registration as a seller of travel does not constitute approval by California. Loyalty Travel Agency LLC is not a participant in the Travel Consumer Restitution Fund); Florida ST37578; Hawaii TAR-6750, Iowa 987; State of Washington 602 868 200.

Hotels

  1. Hotel cancellations received within five (5) days of check-in date will be subject to a supplier cancellation fee equal to the charge for a one-night stay including taxes and other applicable fees.
  2. Cancellations or modifications received at any time may be subject to the applicable supplier fee. Such fee will appear on your monthly card statement as “Trip Charges.”
  3. No-shows are NON-REFUNDABLE and will result in a total forfeiture of any payments made and points used by you in connection with the reservation, without credit due.
  4. Additional cancellation fees may apply during peak or holiday travel periods.
  5. Contact the number listed on your itinerary for all cancellation or modification requests. Cancellations or modifications handled directly by the property may result in additional fees.

Car Rental

  1. Car cancellations received within two (2) days of pick-up date will be subject to a supplier cancellation fee equal to the charge for a one-day rental, if applicable. 
  2. Cancellations or modifications received at any time may be subject to the applicable supplier fee. Such fee will appear on your monthly card statement as “Trip Charges.”
  3. 3.No-shows are NON-REFUNDABLE and will result in total forfeiture of any payments made and points used by you in connection with the reservation, without credit due
  4. Renters must be at least 25 years of age and have a valid driver's license, major credit card and good driving record. 

Activities

  1. Cancellations received within three (3) days of activity date are NON-REFUNDABLE. Theater tickets, theme-park passes, and select sightseeing tours are NON-REFUNDABLE once booked.
  2. Cancellations or modifications received at any time may be subject to applicable supplier fees. Such fee will appear on your monthly card statement as “Trip Charges.”
  3. No-shows are NON-REFUNDABLE and will result in a total forfeiture of any payments made and points used by you in connection with the reservation, without credit due.

Cruises

  1. Clients can book cruises through Janney Rewards by calling the Rewards Center at 1-888-557-1738. Cruise reservations are subject to the rules of each vendor on your itinerary. Refunds require a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks for processing and are subject to the policies of the individual travel provider.
  2. Connexions Loyalty accepts no responsibility or liability for name errors which occur during the reservation process. It is the responsibility of the client to make sure that the name/names on the reservation are an exact match to proof of citizenship used.
  3. It is the client's responsibility to obtain visas, passports, and other documentation including vaccinations for infectious diseases. No refunds will be made if improper documentation results in denial of boarding or entry to a foreign country.A minimum of 25,000 points is required to redeem for a cruise.

Additional Terms and Conditions apply to all travel redemption items, and are disclosed during the booking process.

Gift Cards

  1. The complete variety of gift certificate/gift card rewards and the number of points required to obtain each reward can be found online.
  2. The client must call the Rewards Center at 1-888-557-1738 or visit the program's website at www.janney.com and logon to Online Access to redeem points to receive rewards. Redemptions are subject to point availability and other requirements contained in these Terms and Conditions. The Rewards Center will endeavor to issue a gift certificate/gift card within 7-10 business days of the client's request. At the time of the gift certificate/gift card redemption, the Rewards Center will reduce the client's points total by the number of points used to obtain the reward(s).
  3. Gift certificates/gift cards will not be personalized and are transferable and may be redeemed by any person.
  4. Gift certificates/gift cards must be presented to participating merchant partner for use. The Rewards Center and Janney Montgomery Scott LLC make no guarantees, warranties or representations of any kind, expressed or implied with respect to the goods or services offered by any participating merchant; and shall not be liable for any loss, expense, accident, injury or inconvenience that may arise in connection with the use of such rewards; or as a result of any defect in or failure of such rewards. The Rewards Center specifically disclaims any defect in or failure of such rewards. The Rewards Center and Janney Montgomery Scott LLC specifically disclaim any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Taxes are the responsibility of the client to pay.
  5. Janney Montgomery Scott LLC and/or the Rewards Center may change or terminate participating merchants, withdraw, limit, modify or cancel any reward, add an unlimited number of blackout dates, or increase the number of points required for any reward, even though such changes may affect the accrual or values of points or rewards.
  6. A gift certificate/gift card may only be used once. Mechanical reproductions, copies or facsimiles of gift certificates/gift cards will not be accepted. Additional terms and conditions appearing on the gift certificate/gift cards are to be interpreted in accordance with, and are incorporated into these Terms and Conditions. Gift certificates/gift cards are not exchangeable, refundable, transferable or redeemable for cash and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.
  7. There are no refunds, exchanges, replacements or conversions for currency, credit, other points or rewards for no-shows or unused portions of rewards. Lost, stolen, destroyed or expired gift certificates/gift cards may not be reissued or replaced. Best efforts will be made to ensure that the gift certificate/gift card is received in a timely manner.
  8. Movie Tickets entitle you to one adult admission upon presentation at the box office. Tickets are not valid the first two weeks of an engagement. Please refer to Ticket for specific additional terms and conditions of use. Expirations vary by theater location.
  9. Gift Cards can only be shipped within the US 50 States and Territories. To ship outside of our shipping range please contact us with special instructions at 1-888-557-1738, additional charges may apply.
  10. Rush delivery is available for retail and dining gift certificates and movie tickets for an additional 2,500 points and an additional shipping fee. Items shipped rush delivery will be received within 2 business days. Rush delivery is not available for addresses outside of the United States.
  11. Redemptions of points for gift certificates/gift cards shall be limited to gift certificates/gift cards with an aggregate face value of $4,999 per person per day.

CharityChoice Gift Cards

  1. Not redeemable for cash or merchandise. Never expires.
  2. CharityChoice Gift Cards is a project of Special Kids Fund (501c3, EIN 58-2550249). Funds are distributed to each of the designated charities in one payment, as a bulk allocation, quarterly. Keep confirmation of your charity designation and verification of your order from your rewards program for your records. Ask your tax advisor as to your eligibility for a tax deduction.
  3. Special Kids Fund receives a modest 10% admin fee which is deducted prior to the quarterly allocation of the funds to the charities. CharityChoice Donation Cards offer the same value as comparable merchant gift cards and can be ordered for a similar number of points per dollar.

Merchandise

  1. Merchandise rewards are available for redemption by Janney Montgomery Scott LLC clients who are in good standing and have the necessary number of Janney Advantage® points required when placing an order. Reward Center will verify the number of (points/miles) required at the time of order.
  2. Merchandise may be redeemed only with Janney RewardsSM points. points on separate accounts cannot be combined. Cash may not be supplemented with points to redeem merchandise. All items are subject to availability; most orders will ship within two to four weeks from date of redemption. All substitutions offered at the time of redemption will be of equal or greater value. All points deductions are made at the time of order.
  3. Determination and payment of tax liability is the sole responsibility of the client.
  4. Returns are only accepted for merchandise that is damaged, defective or miss-shipped and reported with in 30 days of the receive date.
  5. The manufacturers’ warranty, if any, applies to all items offered.
  6. Reward Center reserves the right to modify or cancel the program without prior notification.
  7. The offer is not available where prohibited by law.
  8. Items redeemed may be shipped within the 48 contiguous United States only. Only standard shipping is available. No express delivery. Ship to address must include a street address; APO/FPO/PO Box addresses are not accepted. To ship outside of our shipping range please contact us with special instructions at 1-888-557-1738, additional charges may apply.
  9. Merchandise advertised may not be available at the time of redemption. A suitable product may be substituted by the Reward Center without prior motives and in its sole discretion.

Online Shopping Partners

  1. Clients may also earn points by making qualified purchases through any of the Janney Advantage® Online Shopping Partners.
  2. Clients should be aware that our partners have varying policies on how often they report transactions. As a result, some transactions may take longer than others to appear in your account. Please allow 5 business days for posting of points.
  3. All online retail partner offers are the specific offers of the featured merchant, not Janney Montgomery Scott LLC or Connexions Loyalty. The featured merchant reserves the right to cancel or change the offer at any time. Under no circumstance is Janney Montgomery Scott LLC or Connexions Loyalty responsible or liable for any changes in featured merchants' offers.
  4. As a client, purchases made through Janney Montgomery Scott LLC Affiliated Merchants will be deemed a "Qualified Purchase" and will be subject to earn bonus points if and only if all of the following criteria are satisfied: 1) "Cookies", both first and third party (if applicable), must be enabled on your Web browser. 2) All potential Qualified Purchases must begin by clicking on the Affiliated Merchant's link that appears on the (Client) Web site and being successfully connected to the Affiliated Merchant's Web site based upon that click. 3) (Client) may, at all times, route your request for a merchant site through specific links, in order to assure that the sale can be tracked correctly. Any alteration of these links will invalidate your sale, which will not be deemed a Qualified Purchase. Taxes, fees, and shipping/handling charges are not considered part of the “Qualified Purchase” and, therefore, will not earn points.
  5. Bonus points from Online Shopping Partners awarded to clients are subject to adjustments for returns, cancellations, and other events. Such adjustments can be applied to client accounts at any time by (Client) at its sole discretion.
  6. The process we use to track clients’ online shopping partner purchases involves use of a "cookie." A cookie is a piece of text that can be entered into the memory of your computer. It enables the client to freely navigate and remain logged onto the program website for each visit. Cookies from the links allow us to track whether you visited, shopped or joined a web site. Many Internet services deliver cookies to visitors of their Web sites. Cookies are used by Internet services to make their services much more convenient and personalized.
