Managing Director, PC & Enterprise Hardware
Mr. Fearnley joined Janney Capital Markets as a Managing Director in March 2010, covering PCs and the Enterprise Hardware industry. His coverage and proprietary survey work includes major PC, printer, enterprise storage, and server OEMs as well as the PC and Enterprise Hardware distribution channel. He is based in the Firm’s Boston office.
Prior to joining Janney Capital Markets, Mr. Fearnley spent over seven years at FTN Midwest Research / FTN Capital Markets as a Research Analyst covering PCs and the Enterprise Hardware in both Cleveland and Boston. Before becoming a Sell-Side Analyst, Mr. Fearnley spent 18 years in the PC and Enterprise Hardware industry in a variety of OEM and technology reseller sales and marketing management positions. His experience includes channel sales management at Apple Computer; PC and server product marketing management at PC Connection; and managing the server and storage provisioning business unit for NaviSite, a web hosting provider.
Mr. Fearnley has been interviewed and quoted by several financial news outlets such as CNBC and Bloomberg TV/Radio, as well as many print publications. He has been selected as a top analyst by The Wall Street Journal based on his stock selections and was recognized in the May 2008 "WSJ Best on the Street" rankings (#2 stock picker in Computers & Office Equipment). In May 2008, The Financial Times/StarMine recognized him as the #2 stock picker in the Computer & Peripherals category. Additionally, in May 2010, StarMine recognized him as the #2 for earnings estimates in the Technology—Computers and Peripherals category.
Mr. Fearnley currently holds the Series 7, 63, 86 and 87 registrations. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Babson College and a Master of Business Administration from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business/Babson College.
