Mr. Schmucker is responsible for coordinating Janney’s growing M&A and Financial Sponsors Coverage effort (Strategic Advisory Group) which he committed to full time in 2011. Prior to joining Janney, Mr. Schmucker served as Managing Director at Stifel Nicolaus / Legg Mason where he was founder of the Financial Sponsors Coverage effort, Group Head and founder of the Strategic Advisory Group, coordinated the mergers and acquisition practice and served on the Investment Banking Management Committee. Mr. Schmucker began his career at Lehman Brothers and also worked at The Middle Market Group where he focused on middle market mergers and acquisitions. Throughout his more than 20 year career, Mr. Schmucker has advised on more than 100 M&A transactions. Mr. Schmucker received a B.S. in economics from The Wharton School and a B.A. in history from the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Schmucker lives in Philadelphia’s Main Line with his wife and three children and enjoys involvement in church and community activities. He serves on the board of trustees of Spruce Hill Christian School and City Center Academy, a college preparatory educational institution serving under privileged city families.
