Mr. Powell joined Janney Montgomery Scott in 2008. As Managing Director in the Financial Institutions Group, he focuses on networking with Southern banks and thrifts. Prior to joining Janney, Mr. Powell served as Managing Director of Global Wealth Management / Private Client Services at Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc., and was a Managing Director of the Financial Institutions Group at Deutsche Bank Alex.Brown. At Deutsche Bank, he led transactions in restructuring, private and public equity and merger and acquisition engagements. He also developed the specialty finance practice at Alex.Brown with a focus on equity offerings for the credit card and mortgage finance sectors.
Mr. Powell received a B.A. in economics from Davidson College and an Advanced Management Program from North Carolina School of Banking.
