Mr. Higgins joined Janney Montgomery Scott in 2009. As Managing Director, he heads the Strategic Advisory Group and is responsible for coordinating Janney’s Financial Sponsors Coverage initiative. Mr. Higgins specializes in advising middle market companies on exclusive sale assignments, corporate divestitures, buy-side transactions, financings and various assignments across a broad range of industries. Prior to joining Janney, Mr. Higgins served as a Managing Director in Stifel Nicolaus' investment banking division where he was a senior member of the firm's Diversified Industrials Group and a senior member of the Strategic Advisory Group. He served in Legg Mason's investment banking division until the acquisition of Legg Mason Capital Markets by Stifel Nicolaus in 2005. Prior to joining Legg Mason, Mr. Higgins worked for the private equity firm Morse Partners and served as a Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers Securities LLC, the investment banking subsidiary of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where he advised clients on mergers and acquisitions, capital sourcing and leveraged buyout transactions. Mr. Higgins received a B.S. in finance from The Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University and an M.B.A. in finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
