Janney’s Higher Education and Not-for-Profit Advisory Group goes beyond traditional financial advisory services to help institutions across the U.S. advance their mission.

Our experienced team provides a comprehensive set of consulting and advisory services with the objective of helping clients make informed financial decisions, focusing on strategic debt management and capital planning. In our role as financial advisor, we serve as a trusted fiduciary, an extension of staff, and a fierce advocate for our clients.

We work with a diverse group of institutions, including small private liberal arts colleges, large public land-grant universities, private K-12 schools, cultural institutions, and research institutes. Our services supplement the institutional and financial knowledge of an institution’s management team with the industry expertise of our national practice.

Capital Planning

An analytical framework can inform an institution’s approach to funding capital needs while managing variable cashflow streams over time. Our services include financial projections, cash forecasting, liquidity reserve analysis, central bank development, and bridge financing strategy.

Debt Portfolio Management

Financing capital needs is a critical element of financial management for an institution. Our services include portfolio monitoring, plan of finance analysis, underwriter/lender selection, document negotiation, and disclosure best practices. 

Credit Analytics

Financial leadership serves as a steward of an institution’s resources including debt capacity. Our services include in-house rating analysis, peer benchmarking, debt capacity assessment, rating agency strategy, and presentation development.

Management & Strategy

It is critical to create alignment between strategic and financial plans. Our services include policy development, board education and support, leadership sounding board, strategic partnerships, and credit structure evaluation.
