The addition is part of Janney’s commitment to growing its depository platform to better serve clients and meet growing demand.

PHILADELPHIA – Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, a leading full-service wealth management, capital markets, and asset management firm, has announced the addition of Matthew Banks as the Head of Depository Fixed Income Sales within its Capital Markets Group.

Janney offers best-in-class advice and service to the financial services sector. Following the acquisition of FIG Partners in 2019 that strengthened Janney’s investment banking, equity sales, trading and research offering for financial services clients, Matthew will be expanding the fixed income sales team in all regions of the country to complement and build upon existing client relationships throughout the Capital Markets Group.

“The interest among banks and thrifts to provide fixed income solutions continues to increase. Matthew’s addition is part of Janney’s commitment to growing our depository platform to better serve our clients, and meet this growing demand,” said Brandon Holton, Head of Depository Fixed Income.

Matthew joins Janney with over 20 years of experience. He previously served as the National Sales Manager for the Fixed Income Division at Piper Sandler, formerly Piper Jaffray. While at Piper, he also worked as the Head of Strategy and Business Development for their Financial Institutions Group. Most recently, Matt was the co-founder of Excelsior Financial Partners (EFP), a consumer-centric venture capital firm and alternative finance company.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Washington State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
