Transaction Overview
Janney Montgomery Scott served as sole managing underwriter for a $32,255,000 General Obligation Bond issue for Centre County, Pennsylvania. This issue carried a rating of AA (Stable) from S&P. The Bonds refunded certain outstanding debt and provided over $30 million in funds for major renovations and capital improvements to County facilities. The closing of the transaction occurred on July 27, 2022.
About Centre County
Centre County is located at the geographic center of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and encompasses 1,115 square miles. There are 35 municipalities in the County, 10 boroughs and 25 second class townships. Three of these municipalities operate under home rule charters. Principal communities are Bellefonte, Philipsburg and State College – the home of Penn State University. The County is a county of the fourth class, with a 2020 U.S. Census population of 158,172.
