Janney announced the hiring of R. Gene Gaillard and Stephen J. Zales. Gaillard has joined the Newtown, PA office. Zales has joined the Wyncote, PA office.
Janney announced the hiring of David Varela. Varela will serve as complex manager of the firm’s Boston and Danvers, MA and Portland, ME offices.
Janney announced the hiring of Thomas K. Hagigh. Hagigh joins Janney’s Federal Hill, MD branch office, which opened in November.
Janney announced that the firm has been named to Barron’s 2017 list of Top 40 Wealth Managers. Janney elevated its status from being ranked #38 in 2016 to #34 in 2017.
Janney was honored to have ten participants attend the annual Barron’s Top Women Advisors Summit, an elite gathering of the nation’s preeminent women Financial Advisors and industry decision makers.

Janney is pleased to announce that industry veteran Vivian Altman has been promoted to Head of Public Finance for the firm’s Fixed Income team. In this role, Ms. Altman will be responsible for banking, strategic planning, coordinating execution with underwriting and sales, and expanding Janney’s Public Finance presence.
Launched in 2017, Janney’s Hybrid Mentoring Program was created with the purpose of facilitating the organic development of mentor/mentee relationships at the firm through guidance, mutual learning and networking opportunities.
Janney’s Pittsburgh branch has had a successful year thus far. From welcoming new hires in 2017 to receiving the Pittsburgh Business Times' “Coolest Offices” award, the branch has been busy. Under the leadership of Jim Foley, CFP®, Senior Vice President/ Complex Manager, the Pittsburgh branch has also made being a good corporate citizen part of their everyday lives.
