Philadelphia, PA - Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, a leading full-service wealth management and investment banking firm, announced that Tom Galvin has been named Midwest Regional Director, effective January 1, 2025. He replaces Jim Dornan, who is moving to a Financial Advisor and Branch Leadership role.
In his new role, Tom will oversee and manage Janney’s Private Client Group Offices in Ohio, Michigan, New York, western Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. To strengthen and grow the region, Tom will work closely with the firm’s advisors to support and develop their practices, while spearheading Janney’s recruitment of Financial Advisors.

Tom currently serves as Janney’s Complex Director in Ponte Vedra, FL, where he assists with advisor growth in the region. Tom joined Janney in early 2024 from Raymond James, where he worked for over 25 years and served most recently as Divisional Director.

Jim Dornan will transition to join the advisor team at Janney’s McCoy Wealth Management Group in Ligonier (PA) as Senior Vice President / Investments, Financial Advisor. Effective January 1, 2025, Jim will move into the role of Ligonier Office Branch Leader. During Jim’s 12+ years as Western Regional Director, he served as a key member of the leadership team and was instrumental in the region’s tremendous growth. With Jim’s guidance, the Janney Western region added more than 80 financial advisors and opened eight branch offices.
