Janney has been named to the Philadelphia Business Journal's 2018 Power 100, a guide to the region's most influential people.

PHILADELPHIA, PA – November 26, 2018 – Tim Scheve, Chief Executive Officer and President of Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, has been named to the Philadelphia Business Journal's 2018 Power 100, a guide to the region's most influential people. The list recognizes leaders in the region with the most impact in shaping the future of Greater Philadelphia. 

Mr. Scheve was recognized for overseeing Janney’s recent growth on both the Private Client Group and Capital Markets team. The firm’s Private Client Group added more than 40 experienced Financial Advisors in the first three quarters of 2018 after welcoming 65 Financial Advisors in 2017. In May 2018, the firm also expanded its Capital Markets capabilities when it acquired Baltimore-based investment bank HighBank Advisors.

Mr. Scheve, who has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, became the President and CEO of Janney in August 2007. He is responsible for overseeing the firm’s leadership team, ensuring efficient operations and administration, and is tasked with leading the firm’s efforts to adapt to rapidly evolving client needs and economic changes. Prior to joining to Janney, Mr. Scheve served as Senior Executive Vice President at Legg Mason before being named the President and CEO of the former Legg Mason Wood Walker, Inc., Legg Mason’s broker-dealer, where he managed a division with approximately $1 billion in revenue. He earned a bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from Catholic University and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honors society. He also earned a master’s degree in economics from Brown University.

Outside of Janney, Mr. Scheve uses his expertise to support both the financial services industry and his community. His current professional affiliations include serving as the Large Firm Governor on the Board of Governors of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), a member of the Board of Directors of Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA).
