Diane Gabriel joins to lead Financial Advisor recruitment strategy.

PHILADELPHIA – Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, a leading full-service wealth management, financial services, and investment banking firm, has announced the addition of Diane Gabriel as its new Director of Recruiting. She joins from Wells Fargo Advisors where she most recently served as Head of Next Generation Talent.  

In her role at Janney, Diane will lead the firm’s Financial Advisor recruitment strategy while providing direct assistance and support to hiring managers and advisors throughout the recruitment process.

The addition comes on the heels of an impressive third quarter of recruitment with 21 Financial Advisors joining the firm, the largest amount in a single quarter since 2017. Year to date, 49 Financial Advisors have joined Janney, collectively managing more than $9 billion in assets.

Diane began her career in the financial services industry in 1982 as a financial advisor, and over the last 20 years, she has held various leadership positions at Wells Fargo. Most recently, she served as the Head of Next Generation Talent at Wells Fargo Advisors responsible for leading the strategy and management of the firm’s Financial Relationship Advisor, Associate Financial Advisor, Financial Advisor in Training, and the Branch Manager Leadership Program. She was also a member of the Operating Committee. Additionally, in a prior role with Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network, the company’s independent brokerage arm, she was responsible for overall financial advisor experience, client service, transition and training, sales supervision, risk, and operations administration. 

Diane reports directly to Caitlin Ulmer-Long, Senior Vice President, Head of Private Client Group Administration. In addition, Jeff Smith, who led Janney’s recruiting efforts since 2016, has transitioned to a regional leadership role as Complex Manager for the Baltimore region’s three offices, an important growth market for Janney.
