Provides the foundation and support to successfully start career as a Financial Advisor
PHILADELPHIA – Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, a leading full-service wealth management, capital markets, and asset management firm, has announced the launch of a Financial Advisor Career Track (FACT) program to enable recent college graduates to build a rewarding and successful career as a Financial Advisor.
The Financial Advisor Career Track (FACT) program is a rotational program structured to carefully and thoughtfully provide the necessary resources and career pathways to fill the gaps that sometimes make it difficult to succeed as a new professional starting a career as a Financial Advisor.
“Industry demographics demonstrate a need to foster the next generation of Financial Advisors with only 4% of advisors younger than 30 and roughly half within 15 years of retirement,” said Lynn Erskine, Director of Practice Management Group. “The FACT program provides a clearly defined career path, a steady source of income, a strong support network, and a tremendous amount of education, training, and hands-on experience – all important components that have proven to help young and diverse professionals succeed as advisors.”
Janney’s FACT program consists of three phases over 28-months deliberately designed to build critical technical, leadership, and soft skills to develop a comprehensive wealth management approach to financial planning.
- Phase One: The primary focus is to earn the required industry registrations and learn Janney’s systems and processes. Starting as a Private Client Associate, the participants will also begin studying for the Certified Financial Planner® designation and serve as a resource for their assigned branch office in a variety of capacities.
- Phase Two: After completing the requirements of phase one, the participant will be promoted to Wealth Planning Associate where the main goal is to earn the Certified Financial Planner® designation. They will also be paired with a mentor and enroll in Janney’s FA Development Program.
- Phase Three: The participant is promoted to Senior Wealth Planning Associate and will enter the Financial Advisor Development Program which provides training on a mix of technical, leadership and sales skills to prepare for a transition to join a Janney team as a Financial Advisor after completing the program.
Janney is launching the FACT program in four major markets – Baltimore, New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. – with the intention of expanding the program to additional markets in the future. Graduates on a CFP® track from accredited universities are welcome to apply for the program kicking off in June 2022. To learn more, or to apply for the FACT program, email [email protected].
