Expands presence in region with new branch office.
PHILADELPHIA – Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, a leading full-service wealth management, capital markets, and asset management firm, is pleased to announce the addition of RLR Wealth Management in Greensboro, North Carolina. The firm will also open a new branch office in Greensboro to support the team.
RLR Wealth Management is led by Financial Advisors Robert Rose, Executive Vice President/Wealth Management, and John Riley, Vice President/Wealth Management. They are joined by Portfolio Investment Specialist Katie Dunmire and Senior Registered Private Client Associate Kathi Bunn. The team was formerly associated with Truist.
The Greensboro branch office is Janney’s 10th office in North Carolina. In addition, Robert Rose will serve as the Complex Manager for the Greensboro, Pinehurst, and Winston-Salem, North Carolina offices where he will help manage the branch and recruit experienced Financial Advisors to the firm.

Robert Rose, Complex Manager, Executive Vice President/Wealth Management, Financial Advisor. Rob joins Janney with over 25 years of experience in helping clients manage their financial needs and develop personalized investment solutions through various shifting market environments. He is passionate about providing outstanding service and assisting clients to achieve financial success. He focuses on creating comprehensive financial plans, recommending investment strategies, and periodically reviewing plans to make necessary adjustments as life changes dictate.
Rob previously served at Truist, and its predecessor, BB&T Scott & Stringfellow. While at BB&T Scott & Stringfellow, Rob was appointed as chair of the advisory board, where he worked to ensure that all clients received a similar service experience. In the community, he also serves as a member of the Greensboro Urban Ministry development committee and the Order of Malta, where he holds the title of knight.
John Riley, Vice President/Wealth Management, Financial Advisor. John began his career in the financial services industry in 2010 with BB&T Scott & Stringfellow. Before joining Janney, John served as a Vice President and Financial Advisor with Truist.
In the community, John currently serves on the board of the Greensboro Symphony and is a previous board member of the Greensboro Jaycees. In 2020, John was named one of the Triad Business Journal's 40 Under Forty, which is an award that honors extraordinary young leaders in the local community. John graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Arts in economics and an M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Katie Dunmire, Portfolio and Investment Specialist. Katie has been working in the financial services industry since 2005, and before joining Janney, she served at Northwestern Mutual, UBS, Morgan Stanley, BB&T Scott & Stringfellow, and Truist. Katie earned her Bachelor of Arts in political science and her MA in justice studies, both from Appalachian State University.
Kathi Bunn, Senior Registered Private Client Associate. Kathi brings 25 years of industry experience to RLR Wealth Management. She believes in providing the exceptional service that each client deserves, which she believes sets their team apart. Kathi ensures that she is knowledgeable, accurate, and timely so that she is able to assist clients with any needs they may have.
