Janney expands presence in Michigan with new office in Grosse Pointe; adds Laskaris Jamett Advisors

PHILADELPHIA – Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, a leading full-service wealth management, capital markets, and asset management firm, has expanded its presence in Michigan with the addition of Laskaris Jamett Advisors. The firm also opened a new branch office in Grosse Pointe where the team will reside. 

The team is led by Financial Advisors Renato Jamett, Executive Vice President/Wealth Management, and Tom Laskaris, Senior Vice President/Wealth Management. They are joined by Dominic Jamett, Financial Advisor, and Mary Hodge, Private Client Associate. The team was previously associated with Raymond James. 

Grosse Pointe is Janney’s second branch office in Michigan with the other office located in Battle Creek. In addition, Renato Jamett will serve as the Branch Office Manager of the Grosse Pointe office where he will help manage the branch and recruit experienced Financial Advisors to the firm.

About Laskaris Jamett Advisors

Renato Jamett; Branch Office Manager, Executive Vice President/Wealth Management, Financial Advisor. Renato joins Janney with over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Renato started his career in the late 1980s with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter as a Financial Advisor, following working for a member of the United States Congress and a Michigan Governor. Renato then joined Raymond James in 2000 serving as a Managing Director, Branch Manager and was a member of their diversity council. 

Outside of the office, Renato serves on the Board of Trustees for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and for Detroit Cristo Rey High School. Previously, he has been involved with the Michigan Colleges Foundation and been a member of the Michigan Hispanic Business Alliance. Originally from Jersey City, New Jersey, Renato earned his bachelor's degree from Wayne State University.

Tom Laskaris, Senior Vice President/Wealth Management, Financial Advisor. Tom started his career in financial services in 1997, joining Janney with over 25 years of experience. Tom has a commitment help clients reach their goals and help their families in having a comfortable retirement, saving for their children’s education, and planning for next generation.

Tom is on the Board of Directors for the Modern Greek Studies at the University of Michigan and is actively involved with his church. Additionally, Tom has served his community by being a part of the AHEPA Educational Foundation. He is also involved with scholarship programs that promote student art works from Center of Creative Studies, Cranbrook Academy and Wayne State University through the Detroit Artists Market and the John Korachis scholarship award. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Wayne State University.

Dominic Jamett, Financial Advisor. Dominic joins Janney with over five years of experience after joining Laskaris Jamett Advisors in 2015. Dominic believes in the common sense, relationship-based approach the team employs. He is currently on the Board of Directors for the Letterwinners M Club at the University of Michigan. Dominic graduated from the University of Michigan where he was a baseball student athlete, a three-time member of the team’s Leadership Council and team captain. In addition, he was elected President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee where he represented over 900 Michigan student-athletes at the NCAA and Big Ten Conference level. 

Mary Hodge, Practice Business Manager. Mary has been supporting Financial Advisors and their clients since 1995. Previously Mary has served in a similar role at Raymond James and was the Operations Manager of the office, while also serving locally on peer leadership groups. Mary attended Schoolcraft College.
