Alan Schankel is a Municipal Bond Strategist and provides municipal bond strategy and research advice to Janney’s financial advisors and clients. He publishes regular strategic and research commentary in Janney’s daily and monthly publications.

Alan is also active in a variety of industry groups, has served on the FINRA Fixed Income Committee and is a regular arbitrator for FINRA Dispute Resolution. He has 50 years of industry experience, including more than 30 at Janney. He has served in management roles in fixed income underwriting, sales, trading and research with particular focus on state and municipal finance.

Alan is quoted frequently in local and national media including Bloomberg, Dow Jones, Reuters and the Bond Buyer. He is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and has done postgraduate work at the University of Pennsylvania, Temple University and Rutgers.
