Experience

Frank Murphy serves as a Managing Director and Co-Head of Janney’s Energy Investment Banking Team where he provides advisory services to the midstream and upstream energy sectors.

Frank has more than 30 years of energy industry experience, including 10 years as a finance executive with public oil and gas companies and 22 years as an energy focused investment banker. Prior to joining Janney in August of 2020, Frank spent 10 years at Baird where he co-founded the Baird Energy Group along with Curtis Goot. In that time, he was directly or indirectly involved in over 220 energy financing or advisory transactions, primarily for midstream and upstream (E&P) companies. Frank has also held roles as Managing Director in the Wells Fargo Energy Investment Banking Group and Co-Head of the A.G. Edwards Energy Group.

Frank also serves as Secretary, Director, and member of the Executive Committee of the Energy Infrastructure Council (formerly the Master Limited Partnership Association), a Washington, DC based trade organization which promotes the interests of midstream companies.

Frank earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Vermont.
