Experience

Ms. Alice Cheng works at Janney Montgomery Scott, Capital Markets Group. Working with public finance, trading/underwriting, and the sales verticals of Janney's Municipal franchise, Alice provides comprehensive credit coverage to assist Janney's institutional salesforce, investors, and public finance investment banking team.

She has over 12 years of experience in the industry, covering municipal credits across asset classes, including general obligation, tax and revenue-backed debt, healthcare, utilities, infrastructure, transportation, and various P3 projects.

Alice has been a Northeast Women in Public Finance (NEWPF) Board member since 2017. She became the Co-President of NEWPF in 2022. Alice is currently the Co-Chair of the NEWPF Mentoring Program. Through her involvement in the Mentoring Program Committee, Alice has been an advocate for building allyship and connecting young professionals to experienced industry veterans. Alice is also a member of the Women in Public Finance (WPF) Programming Committee.

Alice was a recipient of the 2018 Bond Buyer Rising Stars Award.

Before joining Janney, Alice worked for Citi at the Institutional Clients Group, FFICC, covering the Public Sector Portfolio for two years. Alice worked at Kroll Bond Rating Agency as a rating analyst in the Public Finance team for six years. Alice worked in the Public Finance Portfolio Risk Management Group at Ambac. Before switching gears to become a municipal finance professional, Alice spent a few years at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine searching for a cure for Alzheimer's.

Alice received her MPA from the NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and held a BA with honors in Biological Sciences from the City University of New York at Hunter College.

Alice is an active member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts, Municipal Analyst Group of New York, Asian Americans in Public Finance, Municipal Bond Women's Club of New York, and Municipal Bond Women's Forum.
