Janney Opens Branch Office in St. Petersburg, Florida with the addition of Decker, Harth, & Swavely

PHILADELPHIA – Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, a leading full-service wealth management, capital markets, and asset management firm, has opened a new office in St. Petersburg, Florida with the addition of Decker, Harth, & Swavely. The team, previously associated with Merrill Lynch, will reside in St. Petersburg and Allentown, Pennsylvania. 

The team is led by Financial Advisors Jonathan Decker, Senior Vice President/Wealth Management; David Harth, First Vice President/Wealth Management; and Jonathan Swavely, Vice President/Wealth Management. They are joined by Susan LoBello, Senior Registered Private Client Associate. 

In addition, Jonathan Decker will reside in St. Petersburg office and serve as the Branch Office Manager, where he will help manage and grow the office. The rest of the team will be located in the Allentown office and will continue to maintain the team’s long-time presence in serving clients in the Lehigh Valley.

Jonathan Decker; Branch Manager, Senior Vice President/Wealth Management, Financial Advisor. Jonathan graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Vermont. Prior to joining Janney, Jon served at Merrill Lynch where he started his career in 1998. For 13 years, he served as the Resident Director of Merrill Lynch’s Reading, Pennsylvania, office. In 2019, Jon became the Senior Resident Director of the Merrill Lynch St. Petersburg, Florida, office. In addition, Jon also chaired the Resident Director Advisory Council to Management at Merrill, representing over 400 colleagues throughout the country. 

Jon focuses on helping clients pursue their financial goals. Jon’s client relationships are built on a foundation of trust, which is established by taking the time to know clients well.  By combining a personalized approach with a disciplined wealth management process, he and his team strive to be their clients’ trusted advisor through all critical stages of their financial lives.

David Harth; First Vice President/Wealth Management, Financial Advisor. David graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science. Prior to joining Janney, David was at Merrill Lynch since 2006.

David focuses on the team’s investment portfolio strategies. By understanding clients’ unique situations, David and the team are able to construct appropriate asset allocations strategies, as well as identify and help implement an investment process most appropriate to their needs. 

Jonathan Swavely, Vice President/Wealth Management, Financial Advisor. Jonathan graduated from the University of Maine with a B.S. in business finance. While at Maine, Jon was a four-year letter winner playing Division I ice hockey. 

Jon focuses on providing wealth management advice and guidance. By helping clients analyze their current situation and understanding their future goals and objectives, Jon assists in developing, implementing and reviewing a financial strategy that is specific to each client.

Susan Lo Bello, Senior Registered Private Client Associate. Susan began her financial services career in 1994 and spent 14 years at Merrill in New York City where she provided client and trade support for a team of portfolio managers. Susan continued to work in the industry at Morgan Stanley and in 2016, rejoined Merrill Lynch in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. In 2020, Susan joined the Decker, Harth & Swavely team in Allentown. 

Susan’s primary focus is client service and satisfaction. She helps set up and maintain accounts, provides clients with online access and support, responds to incoming calls and service requests and is proactive in managing client interests.
