Transaction Overview

Janney Montgomery Scott served as the sole underwriter for a $9,665,000 General Obligation Bond issue for the School District of the Borough of Brentwood, PA.  This issue was insured by Assured Guaranty, carried a rating of AA (insured) from Standard and Poor’s and was bank qualified.  The bond proceeds will fund the costs of designing and constructing a new elementary school along with other capital improvements to District facilities.  The transaction was Janney’s third sole managed offering for the District since 2019 totaling over $24 million.

The School District of the Borough of Brentwood is located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania and is coterminous with the Borough of Brentwood. It is five miles from downtown Pittsburgh’s “Golden Triangle.” The District is bordered by Baldwin Borough, Whitehall Borough, and the City of Pittsburgh and encompasses a land area of approximately 1.45 square miles, serving a population of approximately 10,000.
